I am a mother of three and as doctors well know, my body suffers from the after effects of child bearing. I am interested in getting an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), but am nervous about it and want to make sure I select the right doctor. Do you have a list of certified doctors that you recommend to your patients?

I think It would be unfair to list a partial list of plastic surgeons here as there are many highly qualified surgeons in the area. Feel free to call my office for some recommendations and a few leads. Good luck to you!

terri- thinning of the cervix is a process that usually happens near term in preparation for labor. There is no way to know when labor will start. Could be days or weeks.

Sangeethprkash- It is possible that your sonogram is indicative of a skeletal dysplasia or dwarfism. I would recommend a consultation with a perinatologist for counseling in regards to outcome for this child. There are many many forms of skeletal dysplasia each with different prognosis.

Hi! My last menstrual cycle was on 6/2/08. I have had a blood test to confirm that I am pregnant. How far along am I? Also, my first ob appointment is not until the end of august. Is that the normal time to wait for a first ob visit? My last pregnancy posed problems at week 11. Would I need to see the doctor earlier since I had a problem last time? I am very anxious..Thanks!

Hi Karen,

Dont be anxious. If your last period was 6/2, then your 1st appointment in late august will put you around 8 weeks. That is when most people are seen for their 1st prenatal visit. If you had problem last pregnancy, it doesnt mean it will necessarily happen again. You could always come in to discuss those fears before your first official OB visit. Good luck and God Bless — Dr. E

Does AAOBYN offer the Implanon birth control in the clinic?

  dredgerton wrote @

Yes — I believe Dr. Seeker, Dr. Mushtaler, and Suzanne Albert (Dr. Akin’s Nurse Practiciaoner) provide Implanon. There may be more but that is who I know about.
